Machete!
Hey people, feels good to be writing a new post again. I've been wanting to do a Danny Trejo caricature for a while, so I'm glad I finally pulled myself out of the mini artist-block I've had for the past month and did it. It doesn't feel as adventurous colorwise as I might have liked but what a fun face to draw! I give you Machete!

i still havent watched that movie, but this might inspire me to :) Weren't you too forgiving on his facial skin though (Danny Trejo on a very long-term pro-active regimen)? I like the cross-handled blade on the right, and think you had all the facial lines and shadows spot on.

ReplyDeleteI was definately going for a comic- booky style here. Don't know if you remember, but Trejo played this heavy in Desperado and used these cross-handled throwing blades. Thought I'd drop a nod to our childhood...
